Its hard to imagine that Google, or Alphabet Inc as  it is now, has only existed since 1998, thats not even 20 years and yet its such a part of our lives. 

As retailers you must view Google as your friend and your enemy. If you don't master it, your competitors will. There are lots of organisations and witch doctors who will promise you first position in Google and to do your search engine optimisation (SEO) for you. But before pending any money, you really should learn about it yourself. Google provide lots of resources to help you. Why not start with Google own training tool, the Digital Garage where you can learn online isn simple lessons how to make your site better for organic search, and even if you don't have a website, make sure that you have a Google "My Business" account so that you can show your opening hours etc in the search engine.
